ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Master of Computer Application (MCA) Program is a two years, four semesters full time post-graduate degree program offered by the University with a view to impart the students a sound background in computing, business functioning and hand on skill in computer application so that they can built a good career in Information Technology. The curriculum provides a strong laboratory component to supplement the theory course by exposing the students to the use of the latest software tools. The primary emphasis of the MCA program is to provide IT skills in programming and designing information system as per industry requirements and to enabled the students for technology driven start-up programmes.Duration:
- Passed BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree. OR Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 Level or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University). Obtained at least 45% marks in the qualifying Examination
Students who successfully complete the MCA Program will be awarded the Master of Computer Application Degree by the University.Program Structure:
The MCA Program is organized into four semesters in two years. The University follows a Credit-based semester system of teaching-learning and evaluation, and the programme structure of MCA is given in Annexure I. This Programme consists of 16 theory papers, 6 Practical papers, 3 Elective papers and 2 project work ( one Minor and Major Project). Each theory course has 3 - 4 credits and each semester has 24-25 credits, where as in 3rd and 4th semester there is one skills course (extra-departmental) of 3 credits each. Minor project has 6 credits, Major project has 16 credits. The total credits for this programme is 112.Mission

The Admission Modalities are with reference to the campus-based MCA program offered by the ICFAI University at Nagaland. The medium of instruction is English.Eligibility:
Passed BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree. OR Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 Level or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University). Obtained at least 45% marks in the qualifying ExaminationThe process of admission and selection of eligible candidates
The selection of applicants into the program is made through
screening of application and interview. While evaluating
students for admission, due weightage is given to their
academic distinction, awards in Games & sports, Literary &
cultural activities, and other extra co-curricular activities.
Original certificates and Domicile certificate should be produced for verification at the time of admission. The admission decision will be communicated after the admission process.
There shall be a special provision for admission of students
belonging to the State of Nagaland (Domicile) in any course
of ICFAI University, Nagaland, which shall not be less than 25
(twenty-five) percent of seats in each course/discipline subject
to the students meeting the minimum qualifying requirements
referred to above. The fee for the Domicile students is less
than that of the non-domicile students (please refer the fee
Seats remaining unfilled under special reservation may be filled up by allotting the same to students belonging to Open Category.
The candidates are advised to read the guidelines carefully before completing the Application Form for admission.Application Form

- Provide all the available information under appropriate sections.
- Make sure to sign the Application Form.
- Retain a photocopy of the completed Application form.
- Cost of the Application material for UG Programs is Rs. 250.
- Cost of the Application material for PG and Doctoral Programs is Rs. 350.

- Class X Admit Card, Mark Sheet and Certificate.
- Class XII / Degree Admit Card, Mark Sheet and Certificate (as may be applicable).

- 3 recent Passport Size Photo.

Admission fee of Rs. 10,000 (nonrefundable) is to be paid by all the selected candidates of PG immediately after the admission decision is announced. (The tentative last date for payment of admission fee is December 10, 2020 (tentative), 2020 for MCA program.)
Students must pay the program fee on the first day of each semester, after which a fine of Rs. 20 per day will be charged. The first semester fee is to be paid on or before December 10, 2020 (tentative) for MCA program.
Note: Domicile refers to Students from State of Nagaland. Non-Domicile refers to Students from States other than Nagaland.

As per UGC guidelines if a student chooses to withdraw from the program of study in which he/she is enrolled, the institution concerned shall follow the following four-tier system for the refund of fees remitted by the student.
