ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Ph.D. in English shall be awarded
to those candidates who have
successfully completed the
prescribed course of study, and
submitted a thesis on the basis of
original and independent research in a
area that makes a contribution to the
advancement of knowledge.
Every candidate who has been admitted to Ph.D. program shall undergo a coursework in the fi rst semester. The program includes written examination for the course work*. A candidate needs to secure minimum GPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale to proceed with the research work.
The Candidates must possess a
Master's degree* in the respective
discipline from any institution
recognized by the University Grants
Commission. All candidates must
have a minimum scoring of 55% in
the Master's degree or equivalent on
a grading scale (for SC/ST/ Differently
Able candidate the minimum
eligibility is 50%).
The selection of the candidates shall be on the basis of the entrance test and interview. Applicants must submit, along with the application, a brief description of their proposed topic of research. Preference will be given to candidates who have qualifi ed UGC-NET/ JRF/M.Phil. and those with teaching experience in higher education; subject to fulfi lling the entrance test eligibility criteria as determined by the respective Department. All regulations for Ph.D. courses are laid as per the UGC Regulations Act, 2016.
There is no age limit.Duration:
Ph.D. program consists of minimum duration of six consecutive semesters (3 years) and a maximum of 12 consecutive semesters (6 years)
|Ph.D. (English) Program Structure|
The Admission Modalities are with reference to the campusbased BBA, BCA, B.Com, BA, MA, MBA, and Ph.D. programs offered by the ICFAI University at Nagaland. The medium of instruction is English.Eligibility:
The Candidates must possess a Master's degree* in the

For the purpose of determining eligibility based
on aggregate percentage of marks, the procedure used by the
respective University in award of the degree will only be taken
into consideration. All applicants should have completed a
minimum of 15 years of formal schooling by August 01, 2020.
Applicants who have completed their graduation on a onetime
sitting basis or a 2-year basis are not eligible for admission
to the Postgraduate Programs
Students in their fi nal year bachelor's degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements including practical examinations/viva assignments before August 01, 2020. Such applicants will have to produce a certifi cate to that effect at the time of admission. The admission of such applicants will, however, remain provisional until they produce mark sheet/ transcript and a degree certifi cate establishing their eligibility. The last date for submitting the proof of graduation transcripts is September 01, 2019, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled, and no fees will be refunded.
The selection of applicants into the program is made through
screening of application and interview. While evaluating
students for admission, due weightage is given to their
academic distinction, awards in Games & sports, Literary &
cultural activities, and other extra co-curricular activities.
Original certificates and Domicile certificate should be produced for verification at the time of admission. The admission decision will be communicated after the admission process.
There shall be a special provision for admission of students
belonging to the State of Nagaland (Domicile) in any course
of ICFAI University, Nagaland, which shall not be less than 25
(twenty-five) percent of seats in each course/discipline subject
to the students meeting the minimum qualifying requirements
referred to above. The fee for the Domicile students is less
than that of the non-domicile students (please refer the fee
Seats remaining unfilled under special reservation may be filled up by allotting the same to students belonging to Open Category.

- Cost of the Application material for UG Programs is Rs. 250.
- Cost of the Application material for PG and Doctoral Programs is Rs. 350.

- Class XII / Degree Admit Card, Mark Sheet and Certificate (as may be applicable).
- *BA/BBA/BCA/B.Com Degree Admit Card, Marksheet and Certifi cate (as may be Applicable)
- ST Certifi cate.
- 3 recent Passport Size Photo.
- Any other certifi cates pertaining to academic and other activities. *For MA/MBA Candidates.

As per UGC guidelines if a student chooses to withdraw from the program of study in which he/she is enrolled, the institution concerned shall follow the following four-tier system for the refund of fees remitted by the student.

candidates who, as per the regulations, have submitted a thesis on the basis of original and independent research in the management and allied disciplines that
contributes to the advancement of knowledge in those areas.
